What seemed like an ordinary Thursday evening walk with their dog, became a moment Tilly will never forget. After seven and a half years together, Rhys got down on one knee along their local trail. The date was no coincidence: 13 August brought their two lucky numbers together. Waiting at home was champagne on ice, while on Tilly’s hand was the one of a kind yellow diamond ring Rhys had secretly designed.
The Proposal
Rhys proposed to Tilly on their local walking trail in Gawler South, on 13th August 2026.
On a seemingly random Thursday night after work, we took our dog, Marsha, for a walk along our local walking trail. Little did I know, Rhys had a very important question to ask… and I was in complete shock when he got down on one knee! We headed home to a beautiful bottle of champagne on ice and began excitedly calling our family and friends before heading into the city for a celebratory dinner at Pinco Italo. As it turns out, the Thursday wasn’t so random after all. Rhys had always planned to propose on 13/08 - our two lucky numbers combined - which made the date even more special. We spent the weekend celebrating with family and friends in the Barossa, and have been on cloud nine ever since!
The Ring
Tilly's ring is a bespoke Class A design, based on our classic Celine.
What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
After a sneaky scroll through the screenshots on my phone (of which there were many different ring styles!), Rhys picked his favourite and headed to Class A with a very specific design in mind. From there, he let the masterminds at Class A take the reins and bring it all to life. I knew I wanted something unique and had always dreamed of a yellow diamond, and I love how beautifully all the elements come together. I’m completely in awe of the finished product, it’s truly a work of art.
Why did you choose Class A?
Rhys chose Class A after a recommendation from a few friends who had their beautiful rings made there. He said the whole process was seamless from start to finish, with the team being incredibly accommodating - especially for a guy who self admittedly had no idea what he was doing! We both love that we’re supporting a local Adelaide based brand, and are already looking forward to designing our wedding bands with Class A.
