Lucy and Jarra first met at just 15 years old, when Lucy started at a new school and immediately caught Jarra’s eye. Their lives eventually took them in different directions, but 16 years later, fate brought them back together. Taking the time to reconnect as adults, their friendship slowly blossomed into something more.
After a few proposal plans were derailed, including one memorable mishap where the details were accidentally sent straight to Lucy, Jarra wasn’t giving up. With the help of Lucy’s close friend Gemma and Unforgettable Proposals, he secretly planned a romantic proposal at Bird in Hand Winery.
Thinking she was simply heading out for a double date, Lucy arrived to find a room glowing with candles and scattered with rose petals, with Jarra waiting to ask her to marry him. After a love story 16 years in the making, a few unexpected twists and plenty of happy tears, Lucy of course said yes, or rather, “put the ring on me!”

The Proposal
Jarra proposed to Lucy at Bird in Hand Winery, South Australia on 7th August 2026.
After a few roadblocks, time spent overseas, sickness and life generally getting in the way, Jarra had finally made a plan to propose. Everything was organised… until, in a rather unfortunate turn of events, the event manager accidentally sent me all of the proposal details instead of Jarra. Safe to say, the surprise was well and truly ruined.
Jarra was absolutely devastated. After waiting so long and putting so much thought into making the moment special, suddenly the proposal he had planned was no longer possible. But he wasn't giving up that easily. Jarra and one of my closest friends, Gemma, quickly flew into action. Behind my back, the two of them began putting together an entirely new plan — and somehow managed to keep this one completely secret. With the help of Unforgettable Proposals, they organised the most beautiful setting at Bird in Hand Winery.
Gemma had an important role to play too: getting me there without raising any suspicion. She convinced me that the four of us — Gemma and her husband, and Jarra and me — were simply heading out for a double-date catch-up. She even helped organise my dress, and somehow, despite all of this happening right under my nose, I still had absolutely no idea what was waiting for me. When we arrived at the winery, I remember looking around and wondering, Where is everyone? Then Jarra took my hand and began leading me inside.
As we walked in, I saw the room filled with glowing candles and rose petals. And suddenly, I knew. I was so completely overwhelmed that I genuinely thought I might faint. After everything it had taken to get us to that moment — the delays, the roadblocks, the ruined first proposal and the frantic secret planning — there he was, standing in the middle of the most beautiful setting, ready to ask me to spend the rest of my life with him.
It was breathtaking. Romantic. Completely unexpected. And somehow, the proposal that wasn't originally meant to happen became more perfect than anything we could have planned from the beginning. Perhaps that is fitting for us. Our love story has never followed the most straightforward path. We met at 15, found our way back to one another at 31, and even our proposal needed a few twists and turns before it found its moment. But standing there surrounded by candles and rose petals, with the man I had first met all those years ago, none of the roadblocks mattered. Because after all that waiting, planning and a little help from some very special people, Jarra asked me to marry him. And, of course, I said yes. Well apparently I was actually crying so much and I said “put the ring on me” lol.

The Ring
Lucy's ring is a custom Class A design, combining elements of our Mana Oval Diamond Ring and our Seren Multicut Diamond Band.
What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
My ring is so unique and stunningly breathtaking. The whole design and concept was so well executed. I feel Like it really suits me and you can see how much Jarra loves me by looking at it.

Why did you choose Class A?
Jarra said after looking at so many different jewellers and rings nothing stood out until he saw your rings at Class A. He instantly knew Class A was the one. He had several appointments designing the custom ring with the team until it was perfect.

Congratulations, Lucy and Jarra!
Your story is such a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best things are worth waiting for. From first crossing paths at 15 to finding your way back to each other 16 years later, and even overcoming a few unexpected proposal roadblocks along the way, it feels like everything came together exactly when it was meant to.
It was such a privilege to help Jarra create a ring that feels completely unique to Lucy and your story together. Thank you for trusting the Class A team to bring such a meaningful piece to life.
Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness and many more wonderful chapters together.
Love,
The Class A Team
