After eight years together, Jai planned an Adelaide Hills mystery picnic with one final stop Emmanuela never saw coming. A trail of clues led them to a cottage overlooking the hills, where flowers, candles and Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen” were waiting. The song was a nod to the age they met, and as it played, Jai got down on one knee. From the surprise proposal to the custom bezel set ring they had imagined together, every detail felt like them.
The Proposal
Jai proposed to Emmanuela in the Adelaide Hills, on 18th July 2026.
Jai seriously went above and beyond! it started weeks before the day, with his friend messaging me that they had a voucher for a mystery picnic in the Adelaide Hills that was going to expire that they couldn’t use, and asked if we wanted it. I said sure! I didn’t hear anything for a couple weeks so I asked Jai if we were doing it or not, and he very casually said “yeah why not it’s free”
As we got closer, he told me that he had an airbnb booked for a little getaway for the weekend after was being really secretive about it. So, I was clearly VERY thrown off and thought he was definitely doing it at this getaway, the picnic wasn’t even an option in my mind. Then the day comes and it was perfect weather! We headed to the first stop at Beerenberg farm, where we got our goodies and one of the lovely girls there told us that we would be getting an email later in the day (i assumed this was to leave a review). We continued the picnic, solving the puzzles and driving around the hills. Then we reached the last stop at Mount Lofty where we had our yummy picnic and we received the “email”.
Jai had set up a fake email address from Beerenberg saying that they added one final stop at an “Artisan Fruiterer” to take some extra goodies home. I was clueless at this point and we headed there. When we pulled up it was a beautiful cottage with the most STUNNING view! I still had nooo idea until we got out the car and he walked me around the back of the house, where there was a gorgeous set up of flowers and candles. “Fifteen” by Taylor Swift was playing (we were 15 when we met) and then Jai got down on one knee, said some cute things that I definitely can’t remember and asked me to marry him 🥹 it was such a special moment and he even had a photographer there to capture some photos and videos that we will cherish forever!! After this, he told me that we were actually staying the night at this gorgeous cottage which was just so perfect. We headed to a beautiful dinner to celebrate and then just soaked it all up and celebrated with family the next day.

What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
My ring is so so perfect and I feel like it is so me! I loveeee the bezel setting so much, especially that it is on the thinner side, so my diamond is perfectly framed and highlighted!
Why did you choose Class A?
I was very specific about the dimensions of my ring as I wanted a little bit of a thicker band, whilst having a thin bezel. Class A was so great at the customisation process and really brought our image to life!
