The Wedding
Monica and Andrew's elegant ceremony was held at The Manor Basket Range on 17th April 2023.
What were the unique or interesting details about your day?:
Andrew's nana leant me a pearl necklace with a blue pendant that got wrapped around my bouquet.
We also both danced with our parents/step parents. My dad died when I was little but I wanted to recognise the other significant men in my life, so this was very special.
Our guests loved our cocktail hour crossword about how well they knew the bride and groom - it caused much consternation when Andrew's favourite animal was "all of them" and no one could guess it!
Andrew's great uncle sung a classic Spanish wedding song (in Spanish!).
We both had our brothers and sisters as the wedding party.
What were your favourite moments from your wedding day?:
I loved our ceremony! It was filled with so many heartfelt moments, laughter, tears, a reading from Andrew's mum who later burst into tears during our vows. And then sitting back at our reception, taking in the room together, looking at all our favourite people in the same space enjoying this mammoth event we pulled off.
Did you have a honeymoon?:
We went to Bali and stayed at Karma Kandara in Uluwatu for 7 nights. Amazing, stunning, beautiful. Just the perfect start to married life. Then we went to The Udaya Resort and Spa in Ubud for 4 nights. Such different vibes, the best contrast. Gorgeous spa treatments here including the infamous flower baths.
The Rings
Andrew worked with Daniel to design my engagement ring, being a stunning solitaire in a crossover basket with inset diamonds on the band. Daniel then helped us design a matching wedding band.
Andrew's ring is classic gold - timeless just like him.
