A surprise hidden among the vines, champagne in hand and the easiest yes. Lara and Alex's proposal at Bird in Hand winery was beautifully thought out from beginning to end. What started as a relaxed double date quickly turned into an unforgettable surprise, with a private garden, fresh flowers, a crackling fireplace and a heartfelt proposal waiting just around the corner. After tears, champagne and celebrating with loved ones, the day became one they'll treasure forever. Paired with a one of a kind marquise engagement ring that Lara instantly fell in love with the moment she tried it on at Class A, their story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes your dream ring and your forever person find you when you least expect it.

The Proposal
Alex proposed to Lara at Bird in Hand on 23rd May 2026.
We had a double date with Alex's brother and sister-in-law booked in. We were headed out for lunch at Lot 100, then for a wine tasting at Bird in Hand. Little did I know, at Bird in Hand, Alex had planned a private garden reservation with flowers, champagne and a sign asking me to marry him. As we were driving up the driveway of the winery, Alex tried to distract me from seeing the set up. As we walked in, we were greeted by staff informing us that they had no space for a tasting. They were going to make it up with an outdoor space, but they were in on the plan. As they lead us through the garden and to the private fire place, I noticed a sign saying "Lara, will you marry me?"
I immediately broke into tears and Alex got down on one knee. After I said yes, we enjoyed a private moment together, enjoying champagne, After looking back at photos and videos captured by Alex's brother and sister-in-law, we called our loved ones to tell them the news! Alex then surprised me with dinner and drinks with our parents later that night to celebrate.

The Ring
Lara's ring is a personalised Class A trilogy, Eden
What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
I LOVE everything about my ring. It is so unique and special. I've always thought the Marquise cut was gorgeous and loved how it looked on my hand. Alex changed the band to a flat band which I feel makes it different. But my favourite touch is the small 'A' he got engraved on the inside of my ring.

Why did you choose Class A?
We had looked at a few other jewellers before going to Class A, although I didn't find anything I loved. For years, I thought I knew what I wanted but when I tried these rings on, but they didn't feel special. The week of our appointment with Class A, I noticed a ring on their instagram and thought it looked very different. When we got to our appointment at Class A, they walked us over to a jewellery counter and began asking what I like. As I was describing the ring I saw online, I looked down and it was directly in front of me in the counter. The sales assistant took it out and insisted for me to try it on. It was absolutely gorgeous and looked like nothing I'd ever seen before. After leaving, Alex decided that ring was the one for me, because as soon as I tried it on my demeanour completely shifted and my face lit up.
Lara & Alex, congratulations on your engagement!
What a beautiful proposal! We loved reading about Alex's thoughtful surprise at Bird in Hand and how perfectly every detail came together. It was also so special to hear that the moment you tried on the ring at Class A, you both knew it was the one.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of such an important chapter in your story. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter and unforgettable memories together.
With love,
The Class A Team
