Jemima and Long first met in university and shortly after, started working at the same Toys 'R' Us store. With their relationship now spanning nine years, Jemima and Long have set their life up together - a place to call home, a fur baby...and now a ring!
The Proposal
Long got down on bended new at Ocean Bay Phu Quoc Resort and Spa in Vietnam on 26th September 2023.
Tell us about the proposal:
We were returning from VinWonders, a popular theme park in Phu Quoc and arrived back at the resort at 7pm. Dinner was booked at 8pm. I was absolutely panicking to get ready. I needed to shower and wash my hair and blow dry it. During the time I was in the shower, Long was acting so suspicious - saying he needed to go to reception to get bottled water which I thought was so strange but was too busy rushing to get ready.
We got to dinner and sat down at a table, but it wasn't set. I actually said out loud to Long "you're not proposing are you?" he replied "no? we're just having dinner?" because silly me assumed it might happen at a candle lit dinner! Little did I know, during dinner someone was setting up our bedroom for the proposal.
Dinner was beautiful and we then went back to the room. As I opened the door I saw a shadow on the bed which I thought was strange and turned the light on. To my shock, the bed had the message 'Marry Me' on it, surrounded by red heart-shaped balloons and two swan towels in the middle. Immediately, I started to bawl my eyes out. As I turned around, Long was on one knee. With teary eyes he said, "will you marry me?" I screamed and said "yes!" I couldn't stop crying for the longest time. He did amazing with the proposal, it honestly completely caught me off guard.
What are you most looking forward to about being married?:
I feel like life hasn't changed at all, but I'm excited that this is just one step closer to us beginning our own little family and making more memories with our loved ones.
The Ring
Jemima's ring is our stunning GRACE design, complete with a hidden halo.
What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
WOW. This ring is incredible. I wish I had better vocabulary to describe it. I am in love, I stare at it very often! Long chose an oval design with yellow gold which was my only instruction to him. He added a hidden halo which I absolutely adore - it's definitely my favourite aspect of the design. It's so simple and elegant. I love everything about it actually. The oval diamond itself is immaculate, it is so shiny. I often get carried away just staring at it.
Why did you choose Class A?:
Long had a recommendation from a friend to check out this local jeweller. He really liked the customer service at Class A. They made it a very easy process and took the time to answer all of his questions.
