Elise and Henry’s love story began in Year 8, sharing their first relationship and first kiss before parting ways—only to find each other again years later on a school ski trip. Fast forward 8½ years, and the pair were hiking Cradle Mountain when Henry planned the perfect proposal.

After summiting the peak, they wandered down to Dove Lake for sunset, where the mountains glowed and clouds looked like fairy floss. Henry set up a camera for what Elise thought was just a photo—but his racing heart gave him away. Before she knew it, he was down on one knee, asking the question that would change everything.

The Proposal

Henry proposed to Elise at Dove Lake, on the 14th April 2025

We had just hiked cradle mountain summit that day so we were already on a high. We walked back down to Dove Lake for sunset and the mountains were lit up and the clouds looked like fairy floss. Henry set the camera up for what I thought was a cute photo, but as he came over and we hugged I could feel his heart racing and as I clicked to what might be happening he was already on one knee to propose. It was the most beautiful moment of my life in the most magical setting.

The Ring

What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
I love that my ring is shaped like the view at cradle mountain, so every time I look at it, it reminds me of this beautiful moment and I feel like I’m right back there.
