Amanda & Michael

Sometimes the most memorable proposals happen in the most ordinary moments. After just 16 months together, Michael surprised Amanda with the proposal she'd always hoped for: quiet, intimate and at home. What she thought was simply an end of week wine and platter in the backyard quickly turned into one of the happiest moments of their lives. Their story is a reminder that when you've found your person, home is the perfect place to begin forever.

The Proposal

Michael proposed to Amanda at home on 31st October 2025.

I’d said I didn’t want a public proposal, just us. So when I accidentally received the message saying our ring was ready (I’d put the deposit down on it so my details were attached), I forward the text on. He replied ooooh and that was it.

It was a gorgeous day, and he messaged asking if I’d like a platter and wine outside when he got home. So I got straight to finishing my chores for the day as I’d been at mum and dad’s, and organised it ready for his arrival. No makeup, post gym, covered in dog hair and still hanging up the washing, he came home and went to get changed. He’d had a stressful week at work and I thought this was an end of week debrief.

I had the platter and wine out, ready to go, but I’d forgot the crackers. He offered to go inside and get them, and came out with a pale green box instead. Down on one knee, the dog jumping up wanting to be involved, he asked me to marry him, his eyes welling up with tears of joy. He’d totally caught me be surprise! He left work as soon as I’d sent the message, picked up the ring, went to my parents house, missing me by ten minutes, asked them for permission and showed the ring, then came home.

He said he couldn’t wait, he was just as excited as I was. He even tried to see if the ring would be ready any earlier to propose whilst we were in coffin bay a week earlier. With a beaming smile and tears rolling down my cheeks, I said yes!

The next day, we took my ring out for a run along the beach at grange and semaphore and finished with a walk along the jetty. It sure does sparkle.

The Ring

Amanda's ring is a customised Class A design, Toni

What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
It’s stunningly gorgeous. It’s classic, art deco, will go with any outfit and stand the test of time. It’s SO well made, love that it’s local from SA and I chose it. It’s different from what a lot of my clients and friends have, which I prefer.

Why did you choose Class A?
I’ve had so many people recommend Class A. It’s local, they’re made on site, and it’s custom. The service from Melody was amazing. She made the whole process so easy, and we found the perfect ring in about 45 minutes. She also indulged my jewellery fantasy and let me see many other pieces throughout the store, which I’ve now added to my wish list. I also like the little extras that Class A offer that not everyone else does… it makes you feel special and valued, no matter your budget.
