Adriana & Timothy

High school sweethearts Tim and Adriana have been together since they were 17, and after nearly a decade, their love story took a beautiful new chapter. While celebrating their anniversary in Adelaide, Tim planned the perfect surprise proposal on Glenelg Beach—catching his bride-to-be completely off guard. With the wind in her hair, happy tears in her eyes (mascara smudges were definitely from the breeze), and a stunning engagement ring in hand, she said yes to forever.

The Proposal

Tim proposed to Adriana at Glenelg Beach on the 19th September 2024.

Tell us about the proposal:
You would think I would be expecting a proposal on our 9 year anniversary but this was not the case. We had been to Class A to look at engagement rings a few months previous and I thought we were going back that weekend to look again as we were in Adelaide for a mini holiday to celebrate our anniversary. Instead Tim surprised me. He was so calm, walking me down Jetty road to Glenelg beach, I had no idea he was going to propose. I wanted to have a look in every shop we went past, but he very calmly suggested we look on the way back from the beach. It was a windy day and not many people were around much to his relief. We got to the beach and I thought we were just going to take in the view from the path, instead he told me we were going for a walk on the sand much to my dismay as I was in boots! I still didn’t catch on until he pulled me in for a hug and started saying how much he loved me (I think so anyway, it’s all a bit of a blur now). To my absolute shock and delight he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, with the most gorgeous ring that I thought I was going back to Class A to try on the next day! I assured him my mascara only smudged due to the wind, but there may have been a few happy tears.

What are you most looking forward to about being married?
Just spending our lives together. Being that one person for each other that we can always rely on. To celebrate with through the exciting times and to comfort through the challenging. I can’t wait to see what the next few decades have in store for us.

The Ring

Adriana's ring is our timeless and elegant solitaire design, Cate.

What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
We chose the Cate in 2.5ct with an 18ct yellow gold band. I love the simplicity of it and how the elongated cushion is the hero of the ring. It suits my finger shape perfectly.

Why did you choose Class A?
I heard about Class A through friends and after looking through their Instagram I knew I wanted to go and take a look myself —their quality and craftsmanship is absolutely stunning. Tim and I went together and were assisted by Leah who was incredibly helpful and kind. Her expertise made the whole experience enjoyable, she allowed me to try on many different styles and offered advice as needed. Tim contacted Leah via email a month or so later and stayed in contact with Tim over the next six weeks until the ring was ready, ensuring that it was shipped to our house before we travelled to Adelaide for our holiday. Leah was so lovely and reassuring she even played along when I emailed her asking to book in again to try on the 2.5ct that wasn’t in store during our first visit (the one Tim ending up choosing!)

We can’t thank Class A Jewellers, particularly Leah, enough! We had such a wonderful experience and know we will look back on our proposal in the years to come and think about how fantastic Class A Jewellers was in this important milestone of ours.

From high school sweethearts to a lifetime of love—here’s to forever. Congratulations Tim & Adriana!
