High school friends turned soulmates, Sarah and Dimitri “Jim” first met as teenagers back in 2012, but it wasn’t until ten years later standing side by side as maid of honour and best man at a friend’s wedding that they realised their invisible string had tied them together for good.
Three years into their love story, Jim took Sarah back to the place where it all began: Skye Lookout, the spot of their first kiss. Dressed sharply and hiding nerves beneath his jacket, Jim pulled out a handwritten note before asking Sarah to spend forever with him. With clear blue skies above and the city of Adelaide stretched out below, she said yes a million times over.
The Proposal
Jim proposed to Sarah at Skye Lookout, on the 24th August 2025
Jim took me on a drive and it didn’t take long for me to figure out that he was heading up to the Skye Lookout where we originally had our first kiss after our first date. He parked the car and nervously asked me to jump out and come for a little stroll. We ended up walking to the clearing, where it overlooks the entire city of Adelaide. It was clear blue skies. He nervously unfolded a piece of paper that was hidden in his jacket pocket (he was so dressed up, I should’ve seen the whole thing coming). He then asked me if I wanted to spend forever with him and I said a million times yes!
The most beautiful part [of the ring] was the engraving Jim had placed on the inside of the band. It says “you are my home”. Backstory to this: On our third date, we were hanging out just enjoying each others company and he turned over to me and said “I can’t explain it, but being with you feels like I’m home”. Calling each other “home” became a bit of a thing between us. And it stuck! I cried when I saw the engraving.
The Ring
Sarah's ring is our Grace with bespoke customisations.
What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
The yellow diamond. When Jim and I started dating, I told him that his aura gave off the colour blue, as he is the most calm and collected person, who always makes me feel safe and secure. I then asked him “what do you think my aura would look like, what colour does it give off to you?”, and he replied “Yellow. Because your warmth radiates through you, onto everyone and everything around you. You are bright, sunny and lift me up”. Yellow is also a colour alot of people associate with me - I drive a yellow car! This is why we both decided I needed to have a yellow diamond. Besides being more of a unique stone choice, it felt the most like me.
