A surprise flight, a hidden ring and a proposal surrounded by New Zealand's breathtaking scenery. Olivia and David's engagement at Lake Hawea is proof that the most unforgettable moments are often the ones you never see coming. What began as a friendship through work blossomed into a love story spanning four and a half years, culminating in a heartfelt proposal during their anniversary trip to Queenstown. While Olivia thought it was simply another stop on their scenic road trip, David had secretly flown to Adelaide weeks earlier to collect her dream Class A ring without raising any suspicion. Complete with a lakeside proposal, a hidden camera and a ring engraved with their initials and engagement date, their story is filled with thoughtful details they'll treasure forever.

The Proposal
David proposed to Olivia at Lake Hawea in New Zealand on 1st September 2025.
We visited Queenstown to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and it was the trip of a lifetime and one that was made even more special by the proposal. It was a rainy and cold day in Queenstown so I thought nothing special was going to happen so I got quickly as ready as I could and was running late to get out the door so I didn’t even think about my outfit. We were doing a road trip that day to all the destination spots near Queenstown and we pulled up to Lake Hawea which was so beautiful. After sitting in the car for over 20 minutes Dave asked if we should get out and take some photos. I walked to the shore and without me knowing he set up his phone to film the proposal and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the most special moment of my life and nothing will ever compare to that feeling. We then spent the afternoon celebrating, sharing the news and debriefing the proposal. One of the most special parts of this proposal is that Dave knew that I had wanted a Class A ring as we had visited the showroom in December 2024 and nothing else in Sydney compared. He flew to Adelaide two weeks before proposing to collect the ring without me knowing and dropped me off and picked me up from work that day so I didn’t have a single clue that he was flying to Adelaide to collect my ring. I was so surprised he was able to pull this off and so grateful to the team at Class A for being so accommodating.

The Ring
Olivia's ring is a personalised Class A design, Jessica
What is your favourite aspect of your ring?
I have a 3ct Jessica ring and I couldn’t have chosen a better ring. I love how classic and elegant this ring is and I am so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this ring. I also love that we were able to fly back to Adelaide and get it engraved with our initials and the date we got engaged so it has extra sentimental value.

Why did you choose Class A?
I chose Class A because I originally grew up in Adelaide and moved to Sydney with my family. I had family friends who had purchased their rings from Class A and I never heard a bad review. When we visited the showroom we loved how beautiful it was and we received the best customer service and the staff were so helpful and kind. Dave chose class A because he felt liked they truely cared about making sure my ring was perfect and really assisted him with what felt like an overwhelming process. They were also great with coordinating interstate visits and made it very simple.
Olivia & David, congratulations on your engagement! 💍
What a beautiful story. We loved reading about your unforgettable proposal at Lake Hawea, and we're still so impressed that Dave managed to secretly fly to Adelaide to collect your dream ring without giving anything away! It was such a privilege to be part of such a special surprise.
Thank you for trusting Class A with such an important milestone. We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness and wonderful adventures together.
With love,
The Class A Team
