"A few weeks leading up to the 28th October, Alex had told me to get my nails and hair done ready for this particular date. I was thinking this could be it (as we designed my engagement ring together with the help of Daniel a few months earlier - however I didn't know when he would pick it up). Another thought was maybe this wasn't it, perhaps he just wanted to do a nice dinner as we hadn't been out in ages. Plus, I'm high maintenance (to some people) and love having my nails and hair done!
The 28th came - my nails and hair were done! Alex ended up driving us to Mount Lofty Summit Lookout- it was breathtaking with views extending out over the city and to the beach with a sunset in the sky. You could say it was picture perfect. After a few minutes, we decided to take a walk down a gravel track (yes, I was also in heels). In front of us only metres away, there were two kangaroos so I went to get out my phone and take a photo of them. Whilst putting my phone away I turned around and Alex was on one knee with my gorgeous engagement ring in his hand, asking me to marry him. After the proposal we had an amazing 5-star dinner at The Summit Restaurant to top it all off!"
"We wanted to design all of our rings together - including my engagement ring. We thought this would be a lovely, intimate idea as we were both involved in the process of it all. Even though we did design my engagement ring, I was still very much surprised when Alex proposed - I had no idea when he was going to pop the question (he also had the ring a few months before proposing too)!
In terms of a story behind the rings, we both love yellow gold and wanted all of our rings to complement each other. I love my diamonds and I love a plain solitaire for an engagement ring as you can choose any wedding band/eternity band to complement it - this is exactly what I went for. With my wedding ring, I knew I wanted full diamonds to complement the engagement ring but not to take away from it. With Alex's wedding ring, he wanted a simple but sleek design and that is exactly what Daniel gave us. We love our rings and can't thank Daniel enough for his help"
"Some of our favourite moments of our wedding day were:
- Seeing everything come together for the first time (since planning it for two years)
- Becoming husband and wife
- Our first dance together
- Dances with our parents
- Taking time out for sunset photos - this gave us an opportunity to sneak out and reflect on our amazing day together
- Spending time with all of our friends and family
- Getting ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen
- Having Dad walk me down the aisle
- Everyone dancing and having the best time of their life; and of course,
- Eating the most amazing food at Pike & Joyce Winery!"
