How to Choose Your Perfect Wedding Venue

Selecting a suitable wedding venue may seem daunting, especially after the past crazy eighteen months. No need to fear, we are here to help! We have compiled a list of things to look for when choosing your perfect wedding venue, including some of our favourite venue suggestions.

What suits your personal style? Think about how you would like your personal style reflected at your wedding. Does your venue match your vision and aesthetic? If not, is there anything you can do to ensure that it does? A few decorations can go a long way!

What suits your budget? A great tip is prioritising your budget. Some people would prefer to splurge on catering whilst others want to splash out on decorations.

How many people are you catering for? Considering the amount of people you are looking to host and cater for is vital. It is worthwhile to check that your venue will accommodate caterers or has their own onsite.

Cancellation Policy - With our current COVID-19 climate, be sure to look for a venue that is empathetic to the struggles of booking a wedding. Be sure to thoroughly research their cancellation policy, just to ensure you are covered for a worst-case scenario!

Preferred Date - Ensure your venue has availability for your desired wedding date.
Key tip: if you are budget conscious, try a weekday!

Other Factors to Consider

Curfew is another important consideration; you do not want the party to finish too early! Some places, due to their location, may require guests to leave at a certain time, others may simply require that the music be switched off.

Be sure you enquire about bathrooms, most importantly how many there are, as there is nothing worse than a long line up to get to the bathroom!

If you are looking to get married in the colder months, be sure to book a space that is not weather dependent. If you have your heart set on a space out in the elements, ask if there is an alternative available in case of a weather emergency. You do not want anything raining on your parade (or your wedding!)

Now that you know exactly what to ask, you are fully prepared to scout out locations! We have compiled a list of our favourite venues:
